Hi, I'm Mateusz Mokot
IT Student @ Gdansk University of Technology
About me
I am a second year IT student at Gdansk University of Technology.
My main interests revolve around software development, specifically creating computer applications and game development. I find my true passion in backend and systems programming. I love diving into the lowest levels of system logic and core architecture, while happily leaving frontend development to others.
I am constantly learning new technologies and tools to better my craft in both low-level logic and game mechanics. You can see some of my work on my GitHub profile.
Game Development
My journey with game development began simply as a gamer. While I always wanted to create games, the artistic side like making custom 3D models, textures, or animations never really appealed to me. However, I found my true niche in the technical side of game creation: building robust gameplay systems and mechanics using pre-made assets.
I have hands-on experience with both Unity and Unreal Engine 5. In UE5, my proficiency in C++ allows me to understand the engine from the inside out and work close to the metal. Despite my strong focus on programming, necessity has taught me the fundamentals of 3D modeling and animation, which helps me integrate assets and prototype effectively.
Algorithms & Problem Solving
When it comes to coding, I am driven by the challenge of finding the most efficient and elegant solutions to complex problems. My focus is on algorithmic optimization and identifying the simplest path to a high-performance result. I enjoy deconstructing a project's requirements to ensure that the underlying logic is not only fast but also clean and logically sound.
